Another wave of bad weather to hit Northern Ireland, Scotland and northern England on Friday, with schools in north of Scotland closed
All schools in the Northern and Western Isles will be shut on Friday and widespread travel disruption is predicted as #StormGertrude is forecast to bring heavy rain and winds of up to 90mph.
Snow and ice are also forecast in some areas as the extreme weather continues to batter Britain and Ireland.

About 8,500 properties in Scotland are without electricity as Storm Gertrude sweeps across Britain causing power cuts and travel disruption and triggering a red weather warning.
Emergency services were called after two lorries were blown over on the A96 near Huntly, in Aberdeenshire, and on the M9 near Dunblane, Stirling, in the early hours. The extent of any injuries is not known.
