Thieves cleared the shelves of the community-run store on the Isle of Canna and made off with sweets, toiletries, batteries, and even hand-knitted hats made by the shopís manager. The island, which has a population of just 26, normally has a crime rate of zero, and has no police station or even a special constable. Itís last reported crime was in the 1960s when a carved wooden plate was stolen from the Rhu Church and never recovered.(Picture Centre Press)
